GBTA offers a series of training interventions for our Members at each stage of their career, these interventions are tailored for the South African market but based on the GBTA Global content.

In the ongoing efforts to develop the role of the Travel Buyer we are introducing a “Master Class” for those senior Buyers who wish to advance their skill and career to the next level.  This will include global accreditation and require the Member to earn annual credits.

In addition, we have the ability to tailor training for organisations who may require specific industry content.

Our starter course is The Fundamentals of Business Travel Management™.  The next advanced course for travel managers and procurement managers is the Advanced Principles of  Business Travel Management™.  In 2021 we plan to bring our members courses to cover specialised topics like Risk.

The Fundamentals of Business Travel Management™

Designed as a comprehensive guide to the key areas of managed travel, GBTA’s Fundamentals curriculum includes a full range of topics including safety, policy, trends, performance, and more. Participants in this course gain a better understanding of business travel management and make themselves indispensable to the business travel needs of their organization.

Advanced Principles of  Business Travel Management™

This course is the advanced education offering that focuses on the key competences required of business travel professionals. It is intended for travel buyers overseeing a managed business travel program and suppliers offering travel-related products and services.

The Fundamentals of Business Travel Management™

For most companies, travel is the second largest controllable expense. In order to control the expense, you must know how to manage travel spend. The Fundamentals of Business Travel Management™ course is GBTA’s starter course focusing on the basics of business travel management.

This course is designed as a guide to the primary components of managed travel. Attendees will learn how each component intersects with the required competencies and skill sets needed in business travel management. The Fundamentals course teaches participants to maximize cost containment, improve efficiency and create a managed travel culture in a company.
